Basically, I have a Garmin Nuvi 55LM and I want to use its map update capabilities to keep my older Garmins (like a Nuvi 205) with new maps. *****I think I've been following some very outdated tutorials, which is why I'm having these problems. Any tips are welcome! The main stumbling block seems to be that the map is not recognized as unlocked for the older device. Would be nice to know if it's possible to use BaseCamp to trim the map to below 1.8GB and install it on other devices directly (without needing an SD card). system folder, run gimgunlock-0.04 on it, copy that to a sub-4GB microSD as gmapsupp.img in a Garmin directory, and finally it looks like it works. All I had to do was use Garmin Express on the LM unit to update the map, enable storage mode on the LM unit using the secret developers menu, copy gmapprom to my HDD from garmin's. I got gimgunlock-0.04.exe and this time copying it to the SD card produced the desired results. Apparently the issue was that I was using a gimgunlock from 2012.
